Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of documents can you notarize for me?

Pretty much any document which needs your identity or signature verified: deeds, powers of attorney, affidavits, parental-consent forms, financial agreements, medical releases, copy certifications, and more. Under Texas law I can perform acknowledgments, jurats (oaths/affirmations), certify copies, and take depositions—just note I can’t draft or give legal advice about the contents.

Do I need to bring anything besides the paper—like ID or witnesses?

Yes—bring an unexpired, government-issued photo ID (TX driver’s license, state ID card, U.S. passport, military ID, etc.). If the document itself calls for witnesses, you’ll need to supply them and they must also show proper ID or be personally known to me.

How much does it cost, and are there extra fees?”

Texas caps the notarial fees for some documents. Additional fees may apply in special circumstances. In addition, if I travel to you, we agree on a separate mileage or flat travel fee beforehand—that part isn’t regulated by the state.

Can you come to my location, or do I need to meet you somewhere?

Your call. You can pop by my office, book me as a mobile notary (I’ll meet you at your home, office, hospital, coffee shop—wherever’s convenient), or we can handle many documents via Remote Online Notarization (RON) if you have a webcam. Travel fees apply for mobile service; no travel fee for online sessions.

I signed the document yesterday—can you still notarize it?

Yes—if the notarial act is an acknowledgment. You’ll just appear, show ID, and verbally acknowledge you already signed willingly. No—if it’s a jurat or oath/affirmation. Those require your signature in my presence, so you’ll need to re-sign in front of me. The answer to this question will vary depending on the documents involved.

DISCLAIMER: I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas and may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. Under the Texas Admin. Code Rule § 87.40, A Notary Public is prohibited by law to act in the capacity of an attorney, advise on preparing legal documents, issue identification cards, distribute confidential information or perform any notarial act unless the signer is present. Any questions about your documents should be addressed to the lender, title company, or an attorney.
